MB found Salotti’s Gourmet Nuts in Seaside Heights. The stand opened on May 22 — a day after co-owner Joey Pallessi graduated from college. He and partners Sal Ventre and Mark Vespole all attended West Virginia University; Pallessi got the nut recipe from a school chef. The nuts are boiled, coated in cinnamon sugar, and then baked in an oven. Salotti’s also offers the only real-fruit smoothies on the Seaside boardwalk, according to Pallessi. The Island Punch, with strawberries, mango, blueberries, pineapple, banana and fruit punch, is recommended.

Salotti's Gourmet Nuts was founded in February 2010 by three college friends who came across a family recipe for gourmet nuts. The nuts were like by so many family and friends that the three friends decided to sell the nuts, but could not decide on a location. Then an opportunity came along in Seaside Heights, NJ on the boardwalk. After three months of hard work around the clock, Salotti's Gourmet Nuts was finally opened on May 22, 2010.
